Concrete House Bio:

The concept for the Concrete House is to create a home out of concrete, steel and wood.  We wanted space that was comfortable, functional and artistic.  The home was designed in 2 phases allowing the homeowners to live in to space during construction.  The 2 phases are tied by a exterior 2nd level, concrete walkway.

Phase 1 - the Granny Flat

The structure was designed around living in small spaces. Small space is sometimes all you have to work with and generate some of the best design.  During design I was reminded of Snoopy’s doghouse that had everything that you could ever need and he lived like a King within the space. This 2-story space has a full kitchen, shower bathroom, radiant heating, loft bedroom and indoor/outdoor living room.

Tours are available by appointment only; they include consulting and questions on your project. A 1-hour tour rate is $75.00 per person.

Phase 2 - the Main Concrete House

This structure was designed with an open simple floor plan.  It is an upside down house with the living spaces on the 2nd floor.  This gives the view to the living spaces and the sleeping area enjoys the privacy.  The entire house enjoys the benefit of concrete; it takes the heat of hot day and takes the cool of a cold day.  The home has garage doors and window walls that open up to nature to outside spaces/rooms.  The home has an ice machine, deep fryer, built-in coffee maker, walk-in shower, soaking tub, radiant heating.  The plan has open with two bedrooms and high ceilings.
